Food and Catering

TerraPi provides indoor and outdoor cooking facilities in the form of gas burners inside and a well laid out fireplace outside. Guests have the freedom to choose between gas or fire when self catering. Groups, depending on their schedule, can choose to have certain meals prepared by staff (arrangements need to be made well in advance). Saskia makes the best bread dough for potbread and roosterkoek and we can supply you with dough on request. School groups will receive full catering prepared at the camp by TerraPi staff at tailored rates.

We supply complimentary honeybush tea, coffee and sugar. Cooking oil for greasing the pots and pans and tinfoil for cooking on an open fire are supplied. You can bring your own meat for a braai or vegetables for a Potjie, as we supply grids and pots for fireside cooking. A flat bedded pot for potbread and cooking complements a full range of cutlery and utensils. We have spared no expense in providing the best camping gear available, making your camping experience an absolute pleasure.

Camp Protocol

We encourage you to recycle your organic waste such as stalks, peels and cores from fruits and vegetables. In every tent there is a billy-can to capture all green waste and it gets collected daily from the front of your tent. This waste ends up being recycled and put back into the soil, fertilizing treebeds and enriching compost beds used for tree planting. Cans, glass and plastics are also recycled in a user friendly way to highlight the ease with which it can be done when good systems are in place.
