Recreation can be seen as that aspect of your visit that you can do by yourself. Whether it be sitting next to a fire in the evening or taking a short stroll along marked out trails, it requires little input from our staff and can be enjoyed at leisure. It incorporates interaction with your surroundings and an enjoyment of its presence. We provide reading material that can enhance your knowledge of our area and spark interest in whatever you desire to participate in futuristically. The TerraPi concept incorporates a multitude of integrated facets. Accommodation, Recreation, Activities (adventures), Catering and Craft / Environmental interaction. This page deals with DIY and tailored things to do and experience.

ADVENTURES

Adventures will be presented by ExplorAider SA as part of enhancing your visit to TerraPi. Unfortunately we are unable to present the adventures as previously done but will keep you posted on its progress. Still there remains much to do on the farm and your guide Arno will happily comply with requests should you need to go for a walk or ramble within the surrounds of the game camp and Perde Berg. We will launch our new and improved adventure packages including horse riding options in 2008. Thank you for your patience.

Adventures are tailored to suit every group that visits our camp. This season we will be presenting a variety of adventures to suit your needs. This will be updated as they become available. For now, enjoy the following.
4x4 routes, to RiversideRelaxation , abseiling, climbing, game walks, BassFishing, RiverTubing, BushmanCave , RidgeWalking, CrystalJourneys
Explore the local terrain on short or long outings:

  • 4x4 Routes (Guide Required)
Some of the best 4x4 routes exist bordering a stretch of inaccessible wilderness overlooking ‘De Kleine Hel’ and ‘Guerna’. Previously fire prevention access routes used by the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry and farm access paths, form multiple challenging territory routes not for the faint hearted.
  • Mountain Trekking
Also known as ridge walking, two options present themselves here. Overnight to the wilderness, and day hikes. Following the highest ridges along Blouberg on the Eastern border of the farm to Perdeberg along the Western border, spectacular views exist of the whole Langkloof, Suurveldt and Baviaanskloof wilderness area.
  • Overnight Bushman Cave Expeditions
Hike along the borders of the Baviaanskloof Mega reserve and view isolated areas inaccesable to anyone but our guests. Sleep in the leopards den with waterfall cascading next to true wilderness set caves inhabited by San for thousands of years. Three nights, four days using the Tipi camp as start and finish. 'Duke of Edinburgh's group' rated it tops.
  • Mountain biking (Bring own bike - Experienced riders only)
The mountainous nature of the area provide various levels of mountain biking opportunities. Visitors will bring their own bikes and be ready for any eventuality mechanically.
