Situated along the ‘San celestial path’, a route travelled by Shaman healers while visiting bands and tribes along the summer hunting grounds along the mountain ranges, lies a range of caves along secret locations. These caves were utilised during and after the summer solstice as preparation caves to document history and shamanic ritual for the preparation of mind and spirit for a journey of share healing knowledge along the mountains inhabited by the then people of the earth, the San, Khoi-Khoi and Khoi San. 
These cave paintings and caves tell us more about how people lived with the land, instead of on top of it like us westerners. We learn from their paintings and we interpret their knowledge caught in a time when the earth provided in abundance and healing was a part of life.
Many of the caves on the farm were used as dwellings more than 150 years ago and many used for rituals as early as 2000 years ago. The famous ‘Kouga Mummy’ was found only 20km from our location renewing the debate on the ‘Cradle of mankind’ and the birthplace of modern man being the Kouga. Unfortunately you can’t come and visit the ritual caves upon your first visit. We have to get to know you a bit first before we take you to this special secret place.

Sleeping in bushman caves is also available upon special request. Unfortunately we don’t sleep in the ritual caves as site is reserved for healers only, but we have a number of other caves suitable for overnight excursions.
