Harry, Emily and Saskia Bateman

Harry, Saskia, Emily and Chloe Bateman are young people who believe that there are few things worth cherishing in life. It starts with the small circle of a family. A family in an environment filled with splendour and beauty. Surrounded by natural tranquility and harmony where less is more and life is good. One of freedom and the great outdoors. One of closeness to nature and a feeling of connection with the giver of life, our mother earth. We want to share these gifts with all who have a need to break away from the mad rush of everyday living. We want to explore the bounty of nature when true understanding of earth-mind presents itself to those who care to listen. When nature reveals itself to those who care to spend a little time.

One day my mentor 'Lavela Ilanga' (the sun comes up) said to me, "My son. You do not choose the path. The path chooses you." I spent many years trying to figure out what he meant by that and it is only now that I have started accepting my fate.

The earth is in need of our help. Not many people are adequately equipped to help her, but we all have walked a path that can teach others from the experiences we have had. Known as the birthplace of mankind, the Kouga has for millennia harboured secrets captured in the essence of nature and the people who first inhabited her. These secrets have been revealed through nature and forces inherited by many. Few have however spent the time listening to these voices from the wild. Knowledge passed on through the stones and the plants, the animals and the birds. The time has come where these images and stories reveal themselves to those prepared to listen and take the responsibility of passing them on for the continued survival of our way in nature.

TerraPi is a camp that provides people with an opportunity to experience enough silence to be able to listen to what we don't hear every day. The voice of mother earth. It calls for assistance and when given that, reveals secrets not many people have ever had the opportunity to experience or hear. It is her reward for those who care. The path chooses you - i was told. Come to TerraPi and let me introduce you to the ancient voice of mother earth and then you can have a chat. We will just facilitate it, the rest is up to you...
